About Me
Hello, there! I’m Abbigail, an illustrator, artist, art history graduate, and writer. I use watercolors, inks, and pencils to create vibrant stories and atmospheric worlds full of fascinating plants, animals, people, and environments. I am passionate about telling stories creatively and communicating big feelings, quiet little moments, journeys, and unique narratives through my work.
I find my inspiration in nature, music, books, animals, adventures, folklore, history, photography, and the small wonders and stories of daily life. I am eager to work on illustration projects of any type, but am especially interested in children’s book illustrations, folktale collections, book covers, album artwork, product design, and any other projects with vibrant colors and unique stories.
I recently graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Art History from Arizona State University and now pursue illustration full time and continue independent research. My research interests are highly interdisciplinary and focus heavily on ecocriticsm, anthropology, social history, and folklore and literature within art history, architecture, and visual culture. I plan to share some of these explorations on my blog and through videos (I am currently learning how to make and edit videos!).
In my free time, I enjoy reading too many books at once, staring at the sky, listening to music, and fiddling with garden plants. I love growing chili peppers, bright cosmos and zinnia flowers, herbs, lettuce, and any other plants or seeds that catch my interest. I often talk about my plants and hobbies on the blog as my art is heavily inspired by them-feel free to check it out here. I also have a dog named Nori that occasionally naps so I can paint.
